The FBA's secondments
Sweden's engagement in international peace operations is centred on a quest for equitable global development aimed at allowing people to improve their living conditions. As one of Sweden's main conduits for deploying crisis personnel, the FBA recruits, trains and sends civilians to international peace operations.
Sweden's contribution is multi-dimensional and consists of civilian, police and military personnel. The FBA also plays a coordinating role for other government agencies that deploy civilians to situations requiring civilian crisis-management skills, and it trains people ahead of their international missions in, for instance, risk assessment and management.
Recruitment and Requirements
The Folke Bernadotte Academy only nominates candidates of Swedish nationality or holding a Swedish permanent residence permit. Candidates of other nationalities should contact the Foreign Ministry or other seconding authority in their home country.
